Mercy
Coming ...2022 ?
So, yes my far far far far in the distance hopefully one day New Aeterna YA Spin-Off WIP is about Mercy. It takes place 10 years after Rogue during a war that has everyone on edge. It is about a sarcastic, headstrong, smart, competitive seventeen year-old human girl who has been training in secret as the Queen’s protégé and solider who is now ready to take on her first mission.
Now I’ve always said Seraphina and Paris don’t want children, but like to be mentors. In my head Mercy and Seraphina have a younger sister/older sister relationship. I’ve tinkered with this and guys…it’s sadly probably one of the first times I’ve written so many female characters
Now, IDK how long I will be doing serials but I will say it might be a good 3 years for this one because Mercy’s main storyline is about a virus that infects Angels. It feels waaaaay to close to home. Paris is alive in this story but he’s contracted the virus and has been quarantined in a colony for 7 years in a facility where they are searching for a cure. Which…hits different now. I was ready to scrap this until I saw this above image on Pinterest and I was like IT'S HER !
In this world a war has been raging between New Aeterna and ...I'm not sure yet. But Bless remained in office past his term to lead the country. His wife died in an attack and for the past few years he has had to contend with Seraphina who has stepped up and filled Paris’ shoes and is a decorated Major General. This is why I falter on Arrow being cannon because 80% of the things in it would be cannon in Mercy.
Mercy (the story not the character) is answer the question Sera posits in this story of what she has to “Give a shit about” and what she realizes at the end of this serial is that she wants to be the leader New Aeterna needs.
I know a bubbly fourteen year-old Athena is going to be a side-character. A twenty-one year old Arrow has a supporting role I feel ? I just know I plan to bring his relationship with Seraphina full-circle. I promise they make peace with their past.
Paris granting Helios mercy and then Sera naming her secret weapon Mercy was one of the very first things I wrote. I can't believe I'm finally spilling the beans !
Muse : Ahem Back to Rogue. Lile didn’t SHV also have her MCs do it infront of the villain in Burn ?
Lils : UGH, I know when I saw this in Burn I was like BUT THAT WAS MY IDEA
Muse : Okay, but also doesn't Rogue basically have the same plot as Lux Aeterna ?"
Lils : What ? People getting roped into a secret militia lead by a mad leader who 910DA8the newbies on one mission that is successful and another mission that ends in disaster ? I mean I guess...yes. I wanted this to be more like Lux Aeterna but then it got away from me.
Muse : So...do Sera and Aria having matching rings they made out of Helios' finger bone
Lils : Yes.
Paris On A Bus
One comment that’s really stuck with me was about how Paris gets kind of lost in New Aeterna-verse which is true, even though he is one of my favorite characters to write. I wanted Paris to be there when Sera killed Helios. Also Paris has this “off to steal your girl” thing with Helios and he would want to piss Helios off doing stuff infront of him. Paris also makes a point of removing her bandages because his attraction (unlike Helios in chapter 10) isn't about looks.
Of course…when I went back in to write the front of the serial I realized it didn’t make sense for Paris to be in the story at all.
One of the reason I’m excited about Aren't You Cold is because Human!Paris gets to be the main character . Aren't You Cold is a suburban grip-lit erotic thriller dark comedy inspired by SHV’s Harrison County-Verse and based on my All!Human serial School House Rumble (renamed I Have A Destiny)
It’s about an eccentric mild-mannered young politician with a curious past who stumbles across a conspiracy that will have him and his alluring wife trusting no one. It’s a lot but we’ll see. I write a lot of couples and I do something here that is going to be a nice change of pace from my usual angst filled couples. This takes place a month after the high school reunion in School House Rumble ( I Have A Destiny) but it's more of a jumping off point.
Unlike the novella it's based on Human!Paris is self-aware and not duplicitous. There is one thing he is an unreliable narrator about and that is the details of how he ended up an orphanage but it's not central to the plot.
I feel like the Paris/Seraphina I wrote in Lux Aeterna and New Aeterna have non-traditional and adventures sex lives, but because they have to make plans, contend with villains and escape danger they don't have the time to really explore their fetishes and kinks. AYC being All!Human leaves room for this.

“Aren’t you cold?”
Seraphina shrugs and briefly considers the one-shouldered dark blue sheath dress that barley covers her thighs. The color suits her sun-kissed skin just fine, but it clashes with my usual all black apparel. Forever in mourning and all. Seraphina rolls her eyes and takes the cake box out the back seat.
“I miss SoHo”, she says. I lock the doors to her Tesla and slip the keys in my pocket before quickly doubling back and grabbing her long line suit jacket from the backseat… just in case.
“No you don’t”, I run to catch up to her and take in the mild New England air, and “We needed to get out of Manhattan—“
“You needed to get out of the Manhattan”, she says her stilettos clicking on the cracked black top, “Because you got arrested for totaling a gang leader’s car, and because you lost your job with New Crest City and because you were banned from serving in public office in New Jersey. You barley had that job a week.”
“Helios is not in a real gang, it’s a motorcycle club” I remind her, “…minus the motorcycles.”
“I guess the hit he put out on you if you step foot in New York also isn’t real?”
“That’s just a rumor”, I remind her while adjusting my collar…though to be safe I’d hidden out in New Jersey for a few weeks before we moved to Harrison County.
“I got you this job”, Sera says when I open the front door for her, “Try not to fuck this up, Paris.”
“Yes, Darling.”
