Me : *Tehheehe* 🤠Sera's gun in the first chapter is a literal Chekov's gun. No one is going to see that coming
You Guys :
So. You guys this was a journey.
Let me say I would love to write
a funny beachy (slightly murderous) story about Paris and Sera’s adventure in
Hilton Head with the Argos family but I
have no idea what it would be about, This is a plot bunny I would love to meet
one day. So we're probably not done with the AU All Human 'Verse
Originally this was going to be a small little three chapter fanfic set in SHV’s Harrison County. Chapter one was essentially chapter one, chapter two was supposed to be about Sera trying to make good after her incident with Emile and befriending Spencer. Chapter three was supposed to be a cute little get together with all the character helping Paris and Sera unpack. The entire thing would have hints about Paris and Sera’s D/s relationship but not confront it.
Then I was like…but sinister suburb stories are so trendy
Also I was like
….Paris and Sera are freaks.
Let’s explore that.
This story was inspired by the
whole “blank woman put her husband through college" phrase t. I
heard this a lot when RBG passed. I thought about how we never hear the
opposite and what it actually looks
like when a partner sacrifices for a male spouse’s success.
I thought of what that would look like for someone like Sera who has always been an Alpha in her stories. On the outside it looks like she is a typical sacrificing spouse (like Sky), but she is exercising her dominance by doing this. She would only sacrifice because she’d deemed him worthy enough to take this role in her life. Ideally, Sera wants a smarter more successful man to caterer to her.
Sky on the other hand gave everything up with the hopes that one day Cortland would be governor and she could finally ascend to a higher level. It was all working out perfectly until Paris came along and dropped a bombshell.
In true feminist fashion I don’t think Sera’s POV is more right than Sky. It just didn’t work out for Sky.
Many of you caught on to this theme
That’s all I have to say.
Before I go I will leave you with the official ‘cover reveal’ for Pink Neon.
