LONG LIVE THE KING, A NEW NATION MOURNS
HRH Paris Lucien Prince was assassinated yesterday afternoon during the Independent Nation of New Aeterna’s Inaugural State of The Nation Televised Report .
According to several employees working the event, two gunshots came through a window and shot HRH Prince in the head. Prince was rushed to the hospital and declared dead en route at 4:35 pm.
Paris Prince was born in an unkown time and an unknown place. A member of a new Supernatural class of citizens he lived secretly among the humans where he worked as a tailor for decades before being captured and tortured by the defunct Helion Regime.
As an ally to the U.S. the Prince formed the Nationalist Party which would eventually overthrow the Helion regime. Afterward Paris Prince worked as a humanitarian, policy maker and lobbyist for the rights of New Aeternans.
With his help The Independent Nation of New Aeterna was formed 5 months ago, After popular vote Prince was Installed as the first King of New Aeterna. He was working on appointing a Prime minister to the executive office of the government at the time of his death.
He is survived by his wife NADF Corporal Seraphina Grigori. Grigori will be pulled from active duty in Iraq and crowned HRH, Queen Regent of New Aeterna.
Services will be held at The Capitol Building in New Aeterna City Center

The Failure of The U.S Military Machine : A Queen Mourns Alone

This morning debates raged on Twitter and Facebook when the U.S Army at the highest level refused to grant emergency leave to Corp. Seraphina Grigori following the death of her husband.
“This is not a case of bureaucracy”, Said U.S military spokesman Gen. Bart Giuliani, “Corp. Grigori and the NADF are assisting on a classified mission [with the U.S Army] We were in a position where it would have cost lives to notify her.”
Many online say this is one stop on a long road of male dominated politics Grigori will have to battle when she becomes a female diplomatic head of state.
Giuliani served as the spokesman for the Unification Party that advocated for the return of New York City.
Update : As of 9:35 am Corp. Grigori has been granted emergency leave and is on route back to New Aeterna .
According to the U.S Army an internal investigation will be looked into

Eli Cohen (In Studio) : OK. So we all watched in horror five months ago as news unfolded about the assassination of the King of New Aeterna. We at Public Radio America had the opportunity to interview someone—who was close to the situation and believe it or not revealed an angle to this story no one ever talks about.
HRH : Hello. . . my name Seraphina Grigori
Eli : Can you tell us your full title ?
HRH : . . .um. . . Her Royal Highness Queen of New Aeterna, Seraphina Athena Prince Grigori
Eli (In Studio) : OK. So first let me tell you---we actually used Skype to interview the queen--uh—because we are all the way in San Fransciso. During our interview—and for those of you who don’t know Skype is a like making a phone call via webcam—but you can turn off the webcam which we did. The queen is protective of her image.
But we had some technically difficulties and at one point we turned on the video option and-- she said it was fine--and I have to tell you seeing her was---startling
HRH : Yes. I can see you.
Eli : Oh, I can see you. . , is that okay ?
HRH : Yes
Eli : (laughs nervously ) You just look very different (laughs nervously )
Eli (In Studio) : So—I know that sounded awkward but what you have to understand is the woman on the other side of the camera was nothing like the pictures we’ve all seen online. Um--Her hair is in this really short perfectly military savvy way. There is something war weary about her features, hollow eyes, weathered expression she says are from her time held in prison.
This is not a woman who is at times considered the highest example of Western beauty.I don’t know---maybe it’s because I’m a guy and don’t know anything about makeup---it was striking . .
---um, By the way we asked and she said it was totally okay to describe her. This is after all how her fellow soldiers see her everyday and she says she’s so tall she knows she know she can’t hide---she’s 6’4 by the way.
(silence)
Eli : So you were overseas when the assassination happened ? Can you explain ?
HRH : Yes. The NADF and U. S army work in tandem. We are still technically one defense force. I was removed
from the reserves after Paris became King and was deployed on assignment for 9
months with U. S troops. Due to the nature of the operation I wasn’t notified
of the assassination until much later
Eli : So the entire world knows your husband has been assassinated. This is big news and you have no idea. It’s like (laughs) it’s like the wife is really that last to know.
HRH : Yes
Eli : The assignment was this like—special forces ? There were reports this was special force—or and that was why they refused to pull you out and grant you leave.
HRH : I can’t say
Eli: So, you return to the base thinking everything is normal. You have no idea that basically the internet is blowing up over the assassination and refusal to grant emergency leave.
HRH : Correct. We arrived back at base near Al Kasik at . . . 10 am. I was taken directly to the Baghdad airport and out on a private plane where I was briefed on the situation
Eli : So—what do they tell you. Who tells you your husband
has been assassinated ?
HRH : An old friend from the revol—resistance. . .uh, the Nationalist party. I was told my husband had been assassinated and I was being flown to New Aeterna for my coronation.
Eli (In Studio) : So I want stop top for a minute because I know what you are thinking. How can she talk about this moment and show absolutely no emotion. Throughout our interview her tone never changed. My producers and I wandered the same thing at one point we stopped the interview trying to figure out if we were missing something.
However if you watch the very very few clips of interviews or look at her publicity pieces---this is just how she sounds. The formal tone is ---just how she talks. Even her facial expression was constantly serious. But trust me when she talks about this next part her eyes showed all the emotion.
HRH : The flight was 14 hours. We were on a media blackout on the flight
Eli : Who is we
HRH : The Pilot, Captain Argos, A friend and two guardsmenELI : What did you do with the time ?
HRH : I meditated. I kept my country in mind and prepared myself to face that crowd.
Eli : That’s right. . . so you went straight from being in the field to flashing cameras. . . you did your own make up and hair. Was there like—make up people or . .
HRH : I did it myself
Eli : Huh, you did a great job. I mean here you are about to face a new nation that’s lost t’s Prince and you have to put on your own eyeshadow. I mean even your hair was like---longer---really long---- so (laughs) I just—I don’t know. I’m learning new things about cosmetics (laughs)
HRH : It’ s a type of uniform.
Eli : Wait so where did the black dress come from ?
HRH : There was also a staffer. . . she picked it up at the airport.
Eli : Okay. . .wow. So you couldn’t wear your military uniform
HRH : The people needed to see a wife. . . not a solider. I departed the plane at 8am the next day. Press was allowed on the runway and they crowded us. I was escorted through the crowd and into a town car. I believe people were trying to speak to me, but I was in a very focused state.
We arrived at Lilth Memorial Hospital. I think it had finally occurred to me what this all meant. The press was respectful and cleared the way as we entered the hospital. There were perhaps hundreds of personal cameras following me down hall.
I almost fell because I was rushing. The U.S national guard was there for crowd control. . . it was all a very big deal.--- I partially noticed that they didn’t stop the photographers from following me in the room— I thought it was distasteful for them to be in the morgue, they were photographing everything.
ELI : What did you see when you got into the room
HRH : It wasn’t the morgue. I thought it was the morgue but it wasn’t.
Eli : What did you see ?
HRH : I saw my husband and he (silence) um---he smiled at me.
Eli : He smiled at you ?
HRH : Yes, he smiled because that’s all he could do. He was in the ICU and strapped up to all these machines.
ELI : He wasn’t dead
HRH : No. (silence) After the initial shots were fired he was hit on the right side of his skull and rushed to the hospital, he died en route, but was resuscitated at the hospital. He died again in the hospital and was revived and sent to the OR. He died again during surgery and was revived on the table.
He was sent to ICU and has since had two more operations. He spent the summer recovering in California and is now back hard at work.
ELI : So when you got on the flight home he was dead. But while you were in the air he was dying and coming back and dying. By the time you landed what was the report.
HRH : He was alive. When I landed in New Aeterna the citizens and press were---they were yelling at me trying. . . to tell me he was alive. I was to focused to notice.

But it doesn’t matter
When a solider, a.wife. . . a queen came home ready to take up the mantle forced upon her. . . she went without hesitation
What she came home to was the unexpected. Her husband, the smiling Prince, alive and waiting for her.

In November New Aeterna will celebrate their fourth Liberation day, their first as King and Queen. New Aterena will be hosting The International New Aeterna Royal Court, a month long diplomatic celebration. It’s the hottest ticket of the year. Not gonna lie I tried to score an invite. . . and got one.
Eli (laughs) okay. . . so you do expect anything to be different when you get home from Iraq this time ?”
HRH : No. . . I don’t think I can handle anymore surprises.
