Yes, Yes, Yes. I stole the ending. My big ending from Mad Max Fury Road. It fit so well here because Sera wants to make up for every terrible thing she’s done over the past 15 years by helping to run SGI. Which is Helios’ mercenaries company in Bellum. Yes, SHV. I too was also inspired by a film.

Leon are going off to make SGI the good guys and Paris is left to make the

I don’t know? I can see myself playing more with this world because. . . I really want to write about Leon with his girls in the future and I can totally see an origin story for Leon and Sera setting out to build a team of mercenaries. Also there is something about Paris building back up his reputation. It’s not even in the swirling stage, but a totally possible stage.

So. . Solstice was a Demon?
Solstice being a Demon was in my second draft of QC. Originally I wanted there to be this femme-fatale character who starts uncovering Paris’ corruption but also has an open affair with Seraphina. (Yes, yes I know I’ve yet to write a decent F/F relationship)Then I had to figure out how to get Solstice “in” to New Aeterna. At first she was supposed to be Vassey’s fiancée, then I wanted her to be a reporter but final she became a cop turned DOJ agent. Then I realized I had to explain away her “Unique” name so I made her from New Orleans.
Also originally there was no “link” between Solstice and Giuliani but I realized they needed a common thread. And because they were both in the Unification Party together I found making them mentor/mentee gave better motivation for Solstice to come to New Aeterna.
Last fun fact !
Solstice originally appeared in New Aeterna. In the scene before the “big battle” in the strip club. Solstice shows up as a resistance member and she’s really flirty with Paris. She and Sera hate each other and Theo can’t figure out why. It’s never stated that she’s a Demon but it’s implied.
I wrote her section then deleted it.
I liked her so much that I tucked her away for later. . .
Which is why in one comment, I said if I ever wrote a female Demon I knew exactly what she’d be like.

So what happened at the end ?
So I’m not sure how the ending came across but basically when a world leader is found to have committed a crimes against their country they are tried by the International l Criminal Court. Now all of the current defendant are leaders from third world countries that are unstable, but they don’t’ have an ICC for white collar criminals. The ICC is in The Netherlands and Leona and Sera fly there for the trial.
What about Aria and the baby ?
At the end of the serial she’s still pregnant, but by making Seraphina his partner Leon is already making plans to spend more time at home.
