My Way - Aloe Blacc

“Let’s go” I call upstairs. I go through the home setting on my iPad a few more times before heading into the garage. Sera hurries down the steps holding a flattened moving box in the garage I take the box from her and unceremoniously put it in the bin.

“Okay. That’s the last box. We’re official moved in. Are ready to go?”

“Yes”, she says sweeping her long hair into a bun to show off her fresh criss-cross undercut, “I mean Emile is going to a call around noon to talk about getting speakers for the college series. And tomorrow I have a virtual session with that guy who wants all the shoe stuff.  That won’t take long.”

Sera slides on her oversized shades as she heads to the car. She easily lifts herself into her brand new bright blue convertible corvette without opening the door. Once in the car she smooths down her salmon shorts and half unbuttoned blue button up -then kicks off her new boat shoes.

“Paris You almost forgot one”, she points to her red travel case by the door. The case had been sitting in the garage mostly forgotten since the hostage situation. She’d brought a  sparkly black travel case with all new BDSM equipment when she started seeing clients again.

“Are you sure you’re going to need that?”

“You tell me ?”

She reaches into her back pocket and pulls out a small velvet jewelry box with my wedding band nestled in it. I hadn’t seen it since the night of the fire. Back when those cracks first started appearing in our relationship. Sera looks at me expectantly.

Sera had fully immersed herself in New England’s very profitable BDSM scene. I hadn’t calculated that the vibrant vacation towns dotting the coast would be a hotbed of high-end kink-related activity. Between the coast and Manhattan her weekends were usually booked solid.

I realize that maybe I was craving a little of that attention from her as well. Elections has gone well. Josie had stayed on as Chairman and we’d welcomed a brand new board with open arms. Things were settling down and I was ready to take all of my life back.

I slip on the ring and finish backing the trunk.

“Thank you, Darling. Let’s get this vacation started before something comes up.”

I give my checklist one last look and get in to the driver’s seat. The corvette purrs as I pull out the drive way. I take my time driving through the neighborhood so I can offer all the neighbors a wave.

I put the GPS coordinate in for Hilton Head, South Carolina. Then we settle in for the next 900 miles together.
